I know I don’t post about myself here, like at all. But my cat Tiger has been refusing to eat these past few days. I’m really scared. She’s old, like really old, and I’m living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford to take her to the vet on my own. If you guys could spread this around or toss a couple dollars our way it’d mean so much to me.
I have taken Tiger to her first vet appointment and have good news and bad news. Good news is that we found out what was wrong and have managed to get tiger to start eating, hooray!
The bad news is that she has dental issues. She has a three different lesions in her mouth, gingivitis, and her body was starting to break down and re-absorb two of her teeth. This caused causes her a lot of pain, and prevented her from eating. The vet gave us some painkillers, antibiotics, and an appetite enhancer to get her to eat. In eight days I will have to take her back to get her teeth pulled.
Now. The vet bill was $202 dollars for the examination and for the medication. However, her dental bill is expected to be much higher, and the clinic we went to doesn’t do payment plans. I’m going to try and find a new vet so I can repay them over time. This is going to be an expensive procedure, so I’m going to need all the help I can get.
What follows is a retelling of the Jurassic Park story, mainly based on the 1993 film, with portions of the original novel used to supplement the story. The main point of divergence occurs when the park is unable to find workable nonavian dinosaur genetic material for cloning, since - as in the real world - dna degrades much too rapidly. Instead, the park consists only of extinct dinosaurs that can be brought back - birds from the last 2.5 million years. What happens after that is, as Ian Malcolm would say, an emerging pattern.
